SONOPUNCTURE

& VIBROACOUSTIC THERAPY

Sound therapists use a range of instruments in their sessions, including the human voice. In 1:1 sessions, Marc focuses on biofield therapy with planetary tuning forks, which are intuitively combined with crystal singing bowls, chimes, rainmakers, flutes and drums; instruments that we also use in our Sound Healing Events (sound meditation).

What is sonopuncture & biofield tuning?

Tuning forks vibrate at the frequencies calculated by the Swiss mathematician and musicologist Hans Cousto based on his discovery of the natural law of the ‘cosmic octave’. Tuning forks are used in sound therapy in the form of ‘sonopuncture’. They are ideally suited for precise tuning to the naturally occurring frequencies of nature and life, so that body and soul are brought back into harmony with the universe.

The intention and presence that the therapist brings to the sessions – both as giver and receiver – is just as important as the frequencies themselves. Jonathan Goldman, a pioneer of sound therapy, developed the formula ‘frequency + intention = healing’. Thoughts can be seen as a form of energy, and when we add a beneficial, health-promoting, heart-centered intention to the process, the results of healing are amplified. In other words, when the therapist introduces beneficial frequencies during the session, the body receives a signal to tune into that frequency and match the ‘healthy’ vibration. To promote the flow of life force in the human body and energy field, tuning forks are designed to support the energy body in a simple and gentle way.

Tuning forks immediately change the body’s biochemistry and bring the nervous system and organs into a harmonious balance. They are used to relieve everyday stress, improve mental clarity, support yoga and meditation and relieve pain.

Vibration and sound therapy has long been used to help children and adults on the autism spectrum as well as seniors with Alzheimer’s disease. For children dealing with an emotional imbalance known to us as ADHD or ADD, vibration and sound therapy improves attention and focus, reduces hyperactivity and strengthens social skills.

A Biofield Sound Healing session can be a profound experience that can support both your physical and mental health process in an extremely positive way.

The treatment takes place in combination with VAT on a vibroacoustic massage table.

What is vibroacoustic therapy (VAT)?

Vibroacoustic Sound Therapy (VAT) is a science-based treatment that uses gentle vibrations and soothing music to align the body and mind with healthy cellular behavior. Vibroacoustics is a term that refers to technology that translates sounds you hear into sounds you feel. This sensation is achieved through vibro-tactile transducers built into a massage table. The vibrations of the music penetrate the whole body down to the cellular level. This means that you can become one with the music, as the vibrations are translated by the brain as sound and not as vibration. The body therefore receives an external and internal massage; organs in the body that we cannot reach with conventional massage techniques – nerves, glands, lungs, heart or deep-seated blood vessels – react when they are exposed to sound vibrations.

Benefits of VAT

When the cells vibrate within the range considered healthy (approx. 30 – 120 Hz), you feel good and resilient to emotional and physical triggers. However, when cells vibrate outside the healthy range, negative symptoms can occur. Daily stress has an acidifying effect on our cells, which consequently cannot fill up to optimal oxygen levels. These stress symptoms are stored as waste products in cells and blood vessels, which can have serious consequences for our health over time. Low frequency vibrations through VAT (Vibroacoustic Therapy) can help to cleanse cells, increase oxygenation and reduce acidification. As they feed off the frequency, the cells in the body begin to respond and copy the frequencies that the body senses. In this way, the cells are restored to a natural state, resulting in a healthy resonance response.

Vibroacoustic therapy puts you in a parasympathetic nervous state within minutes. For example, new mothers have to deal with various physical and emotional challenges after the birth process. It can take a while for them to come back to themselves; VAT is an excellent option to relieve stress and support the healing process.

Vibroacoustic therapy is a non-invasive method for eliminating emotional imbalance, as well as improving sleep and relieving pain. The National Institute of Health has been studying and reporting on the effectiveness of using vibroacoustics for physical and emotional challenges for over 30 years.
